Insomnia is unable to sleep syndrome. This is my story when I get
insomnia. I had only a few hours sleep. Many of my nights, I only get 3 or 4 hours of sleep. I have try everything to
help me sleep more. Having Insomnia can really make you crazy. I've try many
medicine like
Tylenol and
Mild Nerve Pills and I even have tested a
breathing machine to use when sleeping. The machine made me feel that I couldn't get any oxygen to breathe. I have very difficult time breathing with it. I must quit to use the machine because it was not comfortable.
A friend told me that using
mediation techniques helped her to
cure insomnia. I went to my computer and found out that
meditation can helps people for many different problems especially for mind problem. And I learned that having insomnia is also one of the mind problem. I realize that I think about the struggles and stress I go through everyday so I cannot sleep well. With meditation exercise, I learned to
relax,
calm down and know that getting upset over things will only make things worse than before. Now when I come home after an exhausting day, I don't let everything bother me. I start my mediation in the morning before I go to my office and I do it again when I get home at the night.
I wake up 30 minutes earlier then others. So, I can have time to myself. I go to kitchen and read books or newspaper, get some coffee and do some meditation exercise before I start my day. And then when I'm home at the night, I know that I will have another hard night because of insomnia. So I begin prepare my night after sending my kids to bed.
For my night meditation, First I have a relaxation by listening to the music. I turn on a music channel on my tv and just sit back and relax. Then I sit in a hot tub and let the hot water flow me. Because my body is very relaxed after the music and hot tube session. I straightly go to bed. I don't do everything anymore because I've learn that by staying awake again will only make me harder to sleep again.
I also turns on my little radio to a music channel and leave it on low volume all night to help me get some relaxing sleep. Meditation is simply clearing your mind and thoughts. Once you have cleared your mind over what is bothering and stressing you, it will be a benefit.
I do not say that I am fully cured and get normal 8 hours of sleep every night with my meditation exercises. But I can say that using mediation and relaxation helped me so much. At least, I get a couple extra hours of sleep. Relaxation is the prime aspect to having a better life. So find the way of meditation that will help you cure insomnia, relaxing and enjoy your night.
